I took this picture while walking Monty this morning. See if you can spot something. I did not see it until I downloaded the picture on the computer at home.

Wow, I didn't see him until I enlarged the picture.....so cool that you got this shot.

My wife, Judy, still loves the "Spot The Subject" pictures and she is excellent at it. It took me a while to see the animal and I never noticed it until the comments lead me to the lower right corner.  However, Judy immediately noticed it!

It is the same outdoors, Judy will see something and try to point it out to me.  It could be a bird in the tree; a mountain goat high on a hill; or a fish in a stream.  She will spot it and I will not see it unti she points it out to me.  Sometimes I don't see it at all.

By the way, the same thing holds true for a bit of dirt in the house.  I can walk past it, not noticing, while Judy immediately spots it.

On a more serious note:  Coyotes often travel in packs.  When there is one, there is likely to be several even in rather developed areas like your picture.  Keeping a pooch in a lead is a good idea but, we have had instances in our area of coyotes nailing small dogs while they are on leads.  Thankfully, it never happened to us although there are sometimes coyotes walking down the street in front of our house.

Holly is a darling dog and is fairly protective.  However she doesn't have the presence of our former big dog, Sara, who was an 85 pound Golden Retriever, German Shepherd, Wolf hybrid.  Sara was absolutely formidible both to animals and people. I have seen her chase away several coyotes from our fence line by just barking and generally letting the coyotes know it would not be smart to cross the fence. People would react the same way as the coyotes!

What a beautiful dog and what a great photo!

Laughing because I was thinking the exact same thing as you led us through the events with your wife.... Then she notices the speck of dirt.  HA!

About a year ago there was a study released about men and woman who see and visualize house dirt  different.  Maybe a man conducted the study but the study concluded, " Men don't see dirt in the same way, if they even see it at all:

So, tell your wife that one   : )
