Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
This is for photos you are thinking of submitting for the Calendar and that you would like to show us. If you want more detailed critiques and/or editing help I have started another discussion for that. I know there will be overlap and possibly a mish mash but we can handle that. Don't forget to check the guidelines.

I'm stating early because the calendar submissions need to be in by 9/22. seems like the submission period gets shorter every year.
Remember that vertical shots only go on the multiple doodles per page calendar. If you want a chance at a full page you need horizontal shots.Tags:
What do you think of these 3 pictures, do you think any will make the grade?
What do you think of this picture? and I don't know what it means when you say all photos must be embedded. what is embedded,? Should we have our watermark (kennel name on it, or not?)
What about this picture?
This isn't my favorite, so probably wouldn't make the cut, too much junk in the picture right?
Your lighting is very good as you are not shooting in bright sunlight and your dog's eyes have lots of light in them. And your dog's expression is great. I can tell your dog is a very sweet dog. My dog gives me the stink eye when I pull out my camera.
I do not think it will make the cut for 2 reasons.
1. I agree that the background has too much "junk" as you stated.
2. if you look at your image closely you can see that the face and eyes are out of focus, and what is sharpest is the middle back area of the dog. On a cell phone you may not see it, but when you blow it up onto a calendar these things become way more obvious and it just doesn't look good. It is very important to have the eyes in focus, so if you are planning to take more pictures find a way to put your focus point over your dog's eyes.
Hope this helps.
does it matter that a puppy is in the background?
