So tonight I tried some photos from the house, just for fun. I couldn't get anything like the beauty I could see. I learned you must turn the flash off if you shoot through the window. I also learned an open window can be a good tripod. The slowest shutter speed was 2 seconds, an eternity.

From my living room with outside lights on:

Before I turned off the flash : )

Then afterward:

And from another window:

But it really doesn't convey how pretty it looks out there. I wish I could capture it. I guess I would need a real tripod and a wide angle lens.

Wow, that is a winter wonderland for sure.

Just Beautiful F!  I remember how it always felt so quiet when everything was so covered with snow, like you were in a snow globe :)

It does muffle sounds and you feel kind of isolated. I am wondering what we'll see in the morning.

So beautiful!  I tried the second one in black and white just for fun.  I haven't seen snow like this in many years!

Great!

I like the black and white....contrast.

Those are wonderful and I love the third one.  I like how you can see the lights in the windows of the houses behind the trees.  Very pretty.

Wow - it's like a winter wonderland!!! (Except for the first one, which is kind of scary - haha!)

The last one is beautiful, F.  We got 1.9" rain and my DH and I were commenting how happy we were that it was rain, not snow.  I do love to take pictures of snow landscapes but want it gone in one day and yours looks like you may have it for a few days.

By Mon. we get up to about 40 degrees but I had the melting and freezing and we'll have that for a while.

A real "Winter wonderland".  Pretty back lighting on the last one.
