Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hey everyone.... it's been a while!

I always thought that once I graduated I'd have so much more free time - ha ha! I have missed the PG so much. I have been "lurking" in the discussions and watching all of the photos - which are beautiful! I just thought I'd give a photo/life update to anyone who may have been wondering where I was. or if you weren't, maybe you are just curious. Or if you aren't curious... maybe just move to the next discussion. He he.

I think a lot of you read that we were building a new townhome to be finished at the end of April. Well, that ended up being quite a fiasco. Basically, the builder told us that we had permission to have our large dog there, they said it would be no problem. Then in February we found out that the HOA would not allow large dogs despite the fact that the builder specifically said they would. After a lot of back and forth they basically said "you can bring him but we could force you to get rid of him at any time". So obviously, we had to say goodbye to our townhome.

The good news is that we were able to change to a different home community with single family homes, so Darwin is going to get a BIG yard! It will be done at the beginning of August and we are very excited. It's clear that this is a much better fit for us. All of this new house building stuff has been so much more exhausting/consuming than we expected, so we've kind of let a lot of things drop as we figure everything out. Hopefully I can get back into the groove of things now!

I also stopped doing my 52 week challenge, which is unfortunate. I always thought that being too busy would be what stopped me from doing the challenge but really it was just not having anything to take pictures of. This winter has been smoggy and gross and I just haven't felt inspired. Now that spring is here I'm feeling antsy and ready to start taking pictures again so here I come March assignment!

I've missed you all so much!

Nice to hear from you, and it sounds like it worked out for the best in the end, as life sometimes does.

Thanks Sue, that is so very true.

Welcome back!!  Baylor and I are new to the PG.  Love your photos.  Can't wait for some new pics and helpful hints.

Thanks! I can't wait to see photos from you as well - this month is going to be fun! :-)

Oh we have missed you Camilla. The house news is good in the end since I never thought I'd like having to listen to a HOA. So exciting. A start to finish album would be great. No excuses re: the PG, just come back please.

We will definitely be documenting the process along the way, we are really excited! I am excited to be back. I need to just take a breath, stop obsessing over tiles and paint colors - and start sleeping at night. And taking more pictures. :-)

Yes to all.

What an ordeal, but so glad it had a happy conclusion and so glad to have you back. I've missed seeing your wonderful images.

It was very very stressful there for a little while but it really did end up being awesome. Darwin is going to enjoy our 1/2 acre lot, that's for sure. We just need to learn about landscaping now. LOL

Saw Darwin's cute photo in the photo group and just now found this update.  Yeah, I am glad you are back.  I have learned so much from the tutorials you posted on this site - so thank you for that.  Congrats on the new home - it sounds like things are working out as they do sometimes. But when you are going through something like that it can be a bit stressful.  Looking forward to wonder images of your new home & Darwin playing in his new yard!

Thanks, I've missed being here! It's going to be so fun to actually have somewhere green to take pictures of Darwin at here at home. Right now we just have concrete. :-)

Darwin is going to love it!
