I don't know how to avoid frizzy pixalation during compression. Anyone?  Here is my blog link. I think you will notice what I'm referring to on many of the high quality photos, especially in the hair.  HELP!

Would shooting in RAW help?
I look better with clothes on... Bahhaaaaa..... Actually, I do shoot in raw but they are converted to jpg during reduction. Thanks for the suggestion though.  It could have something to do with it.
It looks to me like the images are being sharpened in addition to being compressed. Are you reducing them to 72 dpi before posting them? If so, try uploading an image a 150dpi and see if there's a difference.
Ya, I thought so too. I tried taking down the sharpness before reducing them but it didn't help much. Hmmmmmm.
