I just wanted to make a comment to all that I get such a kick out of taking my red mini-doodle out into the world. People stop us on the street or wherever to comment on her and ask us what she is. My other doodle, who is cream-colored and very cute doesn't get the same attention Mattie does! We have found a new dog park and when we go there, we usually meet people we haven't seen before. I feel like a "broken record" answering everyone's questions about what she is, what her parents were, etc, etc. They just love her!
I agree that the red is sooooo striking. True reds are my all time favorite. Ned is apricot and, you are right, does not get the recognition the stronger reds do.
From the Doodles I have run into the reds are few and far between though I do agree, they are gorgeous. I wanted my Doodle to be a dark reddish color but the two in the litter were taken. On the other hand, I have to say that my apricot Gracie Doodle gets plenty of ooos and ahhhhs. When we go places with her we can't go more than a few feet with out people asking about her and wanting to touch her hair!! She is very soft and fluffy and irresistable. So far, in public she has not taken a backseat to any dog out there!!!! You want to see a red head that will turn heads...my two grandsons!!!! ha ha...couldn't resist
No wonder. What a doll. Was her nose pale when she was born? I \'m on the waiting list for an apricot/red mini doodle. The noses are very pink. Do they gradually darken a little like yours? Your is absolutely adorable. What kind of collar do you use? It is stunning with the red coloring.
You are so right about the redheads. Everyone loves Sage's color and her soft coat. She knows everyone and their dogs. The question we get most often is whether she will get any bigger. Sage is 17.5 LBS and about 15 inches high. People are used to standard doodles.
We bring Banjo with us where ever we go and find the same thing. I know what you mean about sounding like a "broken record"! It's such fun to bring him out and sooooo good for him to meet so many different people!
That is a beautiful picture of a beautiful dog. Her red color really pops against the green! Thanks for posting it. Red doodles do get a lot of attention.
Thanks! My daughter's boyfriend, who is a professional cinematographer, took a bunch of photos of all of us and the dogs last July 4th and they are all terrific. What a talented guy he is.
