It's at Sweat Mountain Park, though. That park really needs a makeover. I just went yesterday and first of all, the stench of urine is pervasive. It literally made me sick. And second, there are large muddy areas in the large dog side. Any dog going there should expect to need a bath right after. I don't plan on going back to that park any time soon. Wish they were having the romp elsewhere. Angel would love to go.

This is a great time to spend with everyone and their doodles. As I have voiced many times, Saturdays are just rotten days to do this. Most families that I have spoken with prefer to do it on Sundays. I would say that a large part of doodle owners have children and those children are involved in rec sports that play games on Saturday. I for one have football games all day. I'm sure that if we took a poll, Sundays would win hands down. Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to make it either.

All, due to negative reviews on the state of Sweat Mountain Park the Fall Doodle Romp has had a change of venue. I have copied JoAnn Hodgson's (our Georgia IDog Liasion) email update below.

Because of the many complaints regarding the Sweat Mountain Dog Park location, we are going to try Brook Run Dog Park in Dunwoody.
I've heard many good things about it but havent been there myself....so I'm hoping its a nice park.

It does NOT have drinking water at the dog park so if you can bring a jug of water and a big bowl, please do. If you forget to bring some I'm sure there will be enough to share.

We will keep the date, 10/3 and the time the same 10:00 (ish) until whenever you want to leave. I'm thinking we will try and take our group photo around 11:00 so try to be there for that.

As usual we will be collecting donations for IDOG Rescue so please bring a few extra dollars to throw in the jar. Its a great cause and many of our rescued dogs will be attending. Donations have dropped off due to the economy and so have the applications, so contributions are more important now than ever before.

As a matter of fact, I will have my foster dog...Gilligan there if you know anyone who might be in the market for a great Labradoodle, please bring them along to meet him. He is just under a year old, housebroken, Neutered, Microchipped, completely vetted, UTD on all shots and well socialized. His picture and information are on the IDOG RRR website. He really loves playing with other dogs so someone looking for a second dog would be perfect!
