What is the number one thing your ALD does that melts your heart? I love it when one of my doodles gets up on my lap and lays his/her head against my chest. I think I say, Ahhhhh, everytime.

When Emma is tired and I pick her up, she rests her head on my shoulder, which I love, especially since most of the time she's much too busy and rambunctious, so I treasure these special moments!

Rufus is the best bedtime snuggler, he just lies in the crook of my knees contentedly until Jacoby hits the bed at 6 a.m.!
When he's had enough of the "zoomies" (as you call them) Jacoby loves to sit right beside me when I'm on the couch, head in my lap and take a nap.
Both of them have the greatest expression on their faces when they look at us. They trust us completely and love us unconditionally!

I love how when he snuggles he can never seem to press himself close enough. He doesn't just lay in my lap. He climbs into my lap and presses himself up against my chest and shoves his nose right up under my chin...and then he sighs, this big deep contented sigh like he has found his Garden of Eden right in my lap.

my 11 month old ALD, Roo, takes a nap with me every day on the bed. I can't wait for for Tigger (4 mos) to be old enough to join us. Also I adore the way they look at you, like you are the most wonderful thing in their world. Yeah ALDs!

I'm with you, Diane. I love that cuddle in my lap just before bed. It's about the only time my whirling dervish is still and doesn't have his mouth grabbing something.

We love Bonzer's bouncy walk and his happy tail! He struts when we go for a walk and so many folks notice him. I like the way he lets me know that he likes me best by following me around the house to the exclusion of all! The kids are jealous. They say Bonzer's my favorite! Well, he always cleans his own dish!

I kneel down - Finn's two or three feet away, and I say, C'mon, Com'ere, and tap my chest and put my arms out and beckon, and Finn happily obliges; he just plods right up to me (his head's already hanging down in position for what comes next), and he stands there whilst I kiss his head and massage his ears, and scritchy-scratch his neck, and whisper to him that I love him. Then I work my scritchy-scratchy fingers down his back and he tippy-toes forward and rests his head on my shoulder, and we just stay like that for ages. It's always me who dis-engages first because after a while the blood supply to my legs is failing.

Or what about when you reach out to your snoozing doodle or whisper sweet nothings to him and he gently raises a leg in response to reveal to a pink and freckly soft underbelly that simpy cannot be ignored!

Or you tell him, Hey Finny, shall we?...shall we?... .shall we?...(and he's frozen, and his little head is tilting this way, then that, then this way...)...shall we...GO FOR A WALK? And he leaps up and grabs the best toy he can find in a hurry from his toy-box and runs around the house with it whilst I get my coat on!
