Help - any secrets to checking for ticks on a black doodle? I never had a black dog before and now that the weather is changing and we are walking in the woods, I am worried about ticks. I am using frontline and when we come home from our walk I am touching her all over. I am also brushing and combing her a lot. But I am afraid I might miss something because it is so hard to see. I lost a dog to Lyme disease last year so I am trying to take every precaution I can. Any information would be great. Thanks
Fenway had a tick on him when we rescued him....the only way we knew....was by feel. I would look her of with a flashlight too....but keep doing what you are already doing!
Buddy had 2 ticks when I rescued him. One was very close to the toenail and I did not find it, the groomer did. I check by feel also. Flashlight is a good idea.
