I've posted about a few dog-related books (The Art of Racing in the Rain, Edgar Sawtell (sp?), A Dog's Purpose) elsewhere on this site but now looking for recommendations for a good, absorbing but not overly deep read for a trip to Thailand in a few weeks. I'm currently reading "The Glass Castle" which I'm enjoying tremendously. Also liked "The Help", "Eat, Pray, Love", "The Namesake" so I suppose my genre is more along the lines of historical fiction/biographical embellishment if such a category exists! Based on truth with an element of fiction. I welcome all suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Returned from our trip two weeks ago and the book winners were......."This Is Where I Leave You" (I chose that one b/c I thought DH would like it, too...and he did!) and an impulsive buy when I was at B&N after having seen it on the NY Times best seller list, "Just Kids" by Patti Smith. For which my review would be: "Why????". Enough said.

Also read bits and pieces of Robert Moss's book Dreamgates. Mostly enjoyed seeing sites, eating, shopping and did I say, eating???? Loved that Thai food! Bosco hardly recognized me when I rolled in the front door......

Thank you for all the recommendations. I have 2011 reading all planned out as a result.
