Thanks! Cooper is scheduled for an all-over shaving in early January. I have a daughter coming home from college for Christmas break and she told me I cannot shave him until after she heads back to college! He looks good but he does have those mats close to his skin!

We have Tahoe who is from the first Dancer/Cooper litter. We had horrible issues with matting when his adult coat came in and are finding that right length that doesn't matt as much. It is pretty short but they cut him so cute at Kelsey's Dog House (in buckhead Jason) that I think I'll just continue to cut him short. I try to keep up with brushing but the hair is so sneaky. It seems silky and fine to the touch but before you know it they have matts close to the skin. I'll post a picture of the right length on our next grooming.

Cooper is matting horribly now but Lilly is not! When they get their permanent adult coat, does that mean that they will not mat as much? I hope so because I hate to have to shave them but it will be the third time I do that! Hopefully Lilly can keep her long hair! The groomer says she can but she will get a short haircut next time. Cooper though has to be shaved. His mats are terrible on his legs and neck. Oh well, brushing them all over is impossible for me! I know my groomers well!

Simon is my first ALD, so I'm not sure how their coats progress. With goldendoodles, their coats can change several times during their first year, then reach maturity around 2 yrs old. My GDs coat seemed pretty stable at a year, but had another change around 18 months.
I brush/comb my boys about every other day and they don't shed or mat. But I figure Simon's coat at a year/18 months will probably be different than it is today at 6 1/2 months. :-)

Permanent adult coats? I've heard that term but they still mat pretty bad! I get them both groomed once a month and it looks like Cooper will have to be shaved in January. Don't adult coats still mat?

Pat, your babies are adorable! Simon is from Mill Creek, too. His mom is Winnie, Sasha's daughter. Wow! our dogs have the same dad and Lilly & Cooper's mom is Simon's grammy.

How long did it take for your pups to get their permanent adult coats? Right now, when Simon has been washed and blown dry, he looks and feel like a creamy cloud. If he gets rained on several days consecutively, he gets little spirals under his chin, on his chest and he takes on a little ropey appearance.

Cooper sure makes pretty puppies. :-)

My Cooper and Lilly are from MillCreek Labradoodles but Cooper (Southern Charm) is their father and Sasha mother(MillCreek)! Lilly has dad Cooper's coat which does not mat as quickly as her brother, Cooper. His is a tighter curl where Lilly is longer and straighter. They both weigh about 40 lbs. They will be 2 on Feb 19th!

Annie is about 35lbs and 18" tall at 9 months almost.

Simon is soon to be 7 months old. He is about 21 1/2" tall and weighs almost 40 lbs. He's bigger than both Cooper and his mom. About what size are most of your Cooper babies?

Sweet Simon will be 7 months old on Dec 27th and he is certainly full of himself! Precious, adorable and a handful! haha
