I have noticed that when I give Timbow a treat in his crate he will not touch it until I come home. If he has enough time to eat it before I leave he will, but if they're treats stuffed in his kong, he won't. Anyone else have this weird behavior?
No... Darwin gobbles them right up. But I have noticed that when he is in high stress situations, like the first time he took a bath, and the first couple times in the car... he wouldn't eat the treats I offered. I think it is related to being stressed.
Yep, I have that with Jack and I had with my schnoodle years ago. If he gets a treat when he knows I'm leaving, it lies there until I come home. Jack also prefers to eat his meals when I'm in the kitchen with him. I think Camilla's right about the stress factor; feeling secure must improve their appetites.
My poodle, who was the Confidence Queen of the Western World, ate anything, any time, anywhere. Made no difference to her if anyone was home or not.
That's funny. Until we switched to Fromm, Timbow wouldn't eat unless we were in the room with him. Now we could be anywhere and he would gobble it up! He loves his Fromm. :-)
My old Springer Spaniel and my current lab mix left treats until we got home. Ned, on the other hand,........ yum and gone before you are out the door.
Peri will eat anything, at anytime!
Taquito used to not touch a thing when we were gone; however, we have to feed the dogs separately now, so I think he is really hungry when we leave. Peri is crated and Taquito gets the food to himself. HA!
