I decided to give Abby a hair cut. I was pretty nervous but figured - what the heck, it'll grow back. She has been walking around panting since the snow melted! Well, here she is...
It turned out ok considering it was my first time clipping her. (she is still panting tho!! LOL)
Wow, Abby looks great! How did you do her? Did you use clippers and if so, what size blade? Or did you use scissors only? I worry about using scissors and getting straight cut lines. She looks beautiful. You must have a talent for this if this is your first time ever!!!!! I really want to do Gracie but am scared to death to "hack" her up. I have trimmed her feet and eyes a little but only with scissors. I have researched the clippers and am sort of starting to understand which blade size I would probably need to order. Any help you can give me would be great!

PS how long did it take and did you take breaks in between?
Well, thank you... I have a pair of Oster Golden A-5 clippers I bought years ago when I had cocker spaniels. I used to groom them - self taught. So when we got Abby, I went out and bought a new blade -it says 15 on it - and I bought a comb attachment - 1" #8. I clipped her going with the hair. It took me about 20 minutes the first time and then we took a break. Then I took her out and did it again - probably another 10 minutes. I used the clipper on her chin also and under her ears. The head and mustache I did with scissors and thinning scissors. Abby did wonderful considering she has never been clipped before. Up to this point I had just scissored her face and head. It was easier than I thot it would be. If you make a mistake, it grows back. I have been touching it up here and there all day. (poor dog) But she is a trooper. She got a big bully stick today after it was all said and done.
Thank you. I used clippers with a 1 inch comb attachment on her body, under ears, and chin - and scissors on her face and head. It was easier than I thot it would be and Abby sat there like we had been doing it forever. I was amazed at how well she stood for me.
