Hi everyone,  Wispa doesn't have a very long coat, so this 'trim' was very light.  It was mainly to get rid of the wispy puppy fuzz all over her.  It's amazing the difference a bath, blow dry, and trim can make!

Before pictures (though the first was taken right after we had our groomer trim her around her eyes):

And after:

With all the fuzz I thought she was going straight!  Her coat may be short, but it sure is curly!  If it stays even remotely like this, what a dream she'll be to groom!  Loves to be brushed, loves a wash dry, and sits patiently for me to trim her.  She's the best puppy I've ever had, and still only 4 months old!

She looks great and has a real happy Momma.

Okay, I'm going to try this again! LOL!

Great  job with the scissor cut! It is always scary the first time around. I need to have Wispa talk to Tara about how to behave when being groomed, she sounds like such a good girl!

Did Tara have a groomer handle her when she was really young? Our dog walker is a groomer as well, and I asked her to handle wispa, trim her nails, pluck her ear hair, and trim the hair around her eyes when she was only about 13 weeks old, and I'd bathed her a couple times after muddy romps through the woods, and she was used to me making her sit still to drag grass spores out of her fur, too.

Actually, it really helps to completely tire them out first. She's so much more relaxed for grooming after an hour and a half going full tilt out in the woods!

No, I think that is part of the problem. I dropped the ball when it came to getting her comfortable with being handled as a puppy. She can be bribed though TG so grooming involves a lot of treats at our house!

I see you have made good use of "A tired puppy is a GOOD puppy!" Maybe I'll try running Tara for 5 or 6 hours before we start the grooming session!  Hope I can find someone will to run with her! LOL!

I have to confess that I scissor cut Sophie on the week-end and completely botched it. Thank goodness she has no idea! Your doodle looks super cute and cuddly!

Oh no!! Though, I can't help but giggle at the thought of a botched job. If wispa had longer fur I probably wouldn't have attempted an all over trim like that. But hey, it's just hair and it grows (what my mom used to tell me when she cut my bangs lopsided or way too short)!

She is adorable!  Did you name her Wispa because of the wispy hair?   I love her newly discovered curls.  Still lots more coat changes to come from 8 months on!  Keep up the brushing and combing.  It is fun to watch the changes that go on the first year.

Her name is actually that of a chocolate bar over here, and she's chocolate, so there you go. She's lived up to the wispiness of her name, though. And in another way, too. In the English accent 'wispa' sounds like 'whisper', which is what everyone assumes her name is, and she's also super quiet!

And yes, loving the coat changes, she already looks completely different than when we first got her!
