This is a picture of Nala after her first visit to the groomers. I absolutely fell in love with her when I saw her like this! But now, I've learned that this is actually not the cut I'll ask for next time. Not because it looks bad (because I think it looks great) but because they didn't trim it short enough. It's only been about a month since she got her haircut and her fur is already looking unruly. I made the groomer leave Nala's tail and muzzle alone, to really give her that doodle look. But you shouldn't be scared to trim down a little. In this picture, her body fur was left at one inch long. As for her face, I'll cut it more next time.
If anything, fur always grows out. So don't worry about getting a bad cut :-)
I groom Winnie myself- here is a pic of her after my first attempt at scissoring when she was 11 months old. (You can find the "before and after" pics here....http://www.doodlekisses.com/group/doodlegrooming/forum/topics/need-...)
I actually now use a trimmer with a comb attachment to take her body shorter than the above pic. But, that was a perfect 'puppy cut' for her at that time. I still keep her face and topknot longer and rounder as I think that it accentuates her "cuteness"! :-)
Thank you! :-)
