About Me:: Wife, mother, grandmother, volunteer with Alzheimer's people and with the homeless and huge dog lover

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: I own an apricot double doodle named Eli. The mother was a cream labradoodle and his father was an apricot golden doodle. I also own two other sweet pups. Peyton, a yorkiepoo and JeJe Jolee a full blooded Yorkie a retired show dog.

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Our friends own 5 doodles of which one is the mother to our new Eli. I also volunteer with Alzheimer's patients and have a gentleman bring his golden doodle as a therapy dog to visit us. I have always loved this breed and when our friend was taking her small labradoodle to her breeder to breed I jumped on the opportunity knowing they have a great breeder. I would also love to use Eli as a therapy dog down the road.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: Take walks, play ball, play with his toys, train him and just get in the floor and play in general with him.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: A little bit but nothing major

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: He hasn't been groomed just yet. He's a little over 4 months. I have a great groomer I use with my other two dogs I will use when the time comes. Hometown Pet in Franklin TN

Learn the heimlich for dogs!

I have an 8 month old doodle, Eli whom I adore. I also have two other dogs, an 11 1/2 year old Yorkshire terrier and a 8 year old Yorkiepoo who are also the loves of my life. Last night my 8 pound yorkiepoo choked on a treat and we almost lost him. Thank goodness for Google! We looked up how to perform the heimlich on dogs. After about 8-10 minutes we were able to dislodge the treat that he had bitten off more than he needed to and swallowed before chewing it up. It was a very traumatic… Continue

First of all let me say I LOVE this website and all it's valuable information! I have had dogs all my married life (37 years) but this is my first doodle. Eli has been challenging to say the least. We love and adore him dearly. However, there are a few areas he wears on my last nerve. Eli is 7 1/2 months old and is still nippy when he wants my attention or suddenly decides to attack.
