First Nail Trim & Bath

Dougie's nails are getting long but I am too scared to cut them because they are dark and I can not see the quick.  I planned to take him to PetSmart for this purpose--adding a bath because I don't think that they will just cut his nails and be done with it...  My concern is that he has not had all of his shots and I fear that he could get sick or catch something.  Please help, I am at a loss here :)))

If you were close to me, you could come in to the Petsmart I work at and I would sanitize my table in front of you, disinfect my nail trimmers and trim all his nails within 5 minutes, then you'd be on your way!

Boy, how I wish that you were here :).  Dougie's nails were clipped by the vet's office today and he did well...with treats of course.

He is doing well.  Thanks for asking.  He now knows:  sit, down, stay, touch, kiss and shake.  He also rings his bells when he has to potty.  I love that little booger of mine :).  He is quite the "sneaky" one though, see new pic where he was caught trying to eat some Oreo cookies, LOL!!!  How are things with Ava?

I agree, forget PetSmart, PetCo for any grooming. Find a good groomer & in the meantime have your veterinarian do it for you if you don't want to try it yourself. A good groomer is a jewel that I have yet to find myself :((((( I have only three requests and get one out of three. Grrrrr
