Noah started out wavy as a young puppy

Now he has a wool coat coming in. He's a f1b goldendoodle, 6.5 months old. I brush him every day (mainly with a flea comb to get deep in the hair) and lots of hair comes out. I'm pretty sure he has a mixture between a curly fleece and wool coat because he feels like a sheep but is still very soft and silky. Should I be brushing him this often?

I just have to say how cute Noah is!! He looks a lot like Rusty! Great color, and nice looking coat. They could be brothers.
I don't have an answer to the brushing. I brush Rusty a few times a week, but maybe I should be doing more.
We had him shaved in March becuase he had some matts, so I'll start combing him now as well.
Noah is just adorable!
Brushing daily is good. Particularly at this age. His coat change will come up in the next 2 to 4 months and if he is used to daily brushing, it will go easier for him and you. You may want to shorten his coat to 2 inches during the change to make brushing easier. After the complete coat change, you may get away with less brushing, but I would keep it up for now.
It looks like Max has the same coat. I brush him about twice a week. Have you used the Les Pooch brush? I'm wondering if you like them because I'm considering investing.

Right now, I use a slicker brush that my groomer loves and has used for 20+ years. It's the Original Universal from Germany. It cost me a whole ten bucks - LOL. I've seen it for less online. However, here is the "but" - they changed the bristle texture on their new brushes and the one she likes is the old style. I don't like to cut Max lower than 2 inches so, I work to keep him mat free. So far - that hasn't been hard but, I wonder if that will be more difficult as he gets older. I may try the Le Pooch brush. Perhaps I should wait and see what happens after he blows his puppy coat.
