Hi everyone! I'm new to this group since I had a bad grooming experience yesterday with Jace at the groomers.(A "trim" gone terribly wrong) So after this event I have decided I'm going to groom him myself, since I dont plan on doing much with him except the basics(feet, face, and private areas) and just trimming the body fur! Since I'm new to this I was wondering what equipment you all suggest.

I am new to this as well...I found that the Andis AGC seems to be pretty popular!  I just ordered mine, Andis AGC 2 speed, some clips, universal combs, and a nice pair of thinning shears. Initially, it may be expensive, but it will pay for itself after a few cuts, plus knowing that your dog is safe makes it priceless!  Petedge.com is where we bought everything from..good luck!

Steel Comb

Les Poochs Brush suitable to your Doodle coat type

Regular slicker brush

7 1/2 inch grooming shears

blending shears

nail clippers

High Volume Air Blower  [this has many uses]

Clipper with a #10 blade and a longer blade suitable to your Doodle's coat

I have listed these items in the order I find them most helpful.

You also need a quality shampoo, cream rinse and conditioning spray.

For ears you need ear pulling powder and an ear cleaner

It's also really nice to have a grooming table and noose.
