Thank you! I paid $120 for a cut four/five short weeks ago. I cannot even tell Astro had a hair cut. It is all coming off for summer. It grows back so fast. Thanks for sharing.
Astro says "Rut Row, all coming off"! I said, $120, OMG, I've never heard of anyone outside NYC paying that much! Hope they did a good job!
Mommy said Rut Row when she got the bill. And they raved about what good condition he was in...so it wasn't due to matts or anything. You know how you get a "surcharge" when you take a oversized SUV to the car wash? Well, my BIG red dog got a surcharge for being oversized. We are going to a more reasonably priced groomer in the future. He looked great and honestly at the time I didn't feel bad being charged that much...but when I see after four/five short weeks you cannot even tell he had a haircut...well lets just say I'm looking for other ideas. Have a great afternoon!
He is just adorable. LOVE that haircut!!
Hi Yvonne, Funny you should write this. I was talking with our groomer a couple of weeks ago and mentioned having Cimmy trimmed down in late May/early June to keep her cooler. She told me that it doesn't matter whether they are trimmed short or not. It doesn't keep them any cooler. She said that each strand of hair/fur, unlike ours, is hollow and therefore, doesn't cause them to retain body heat. I found this very interesting. Makes sense since there are a lot of breeds that have very full thick coats that do not get shaved and they are fine. Now if YOU feel better mentally about your dood, then have him trimmed, but it won't help him beat the heat. Ask your groomer, see what he/she has to say. I am curious. I am still going to have Cimmy trimmed, but not very short. Her hair is about 5 or 6 inches long now so I will have her taken down to 2 inches. From what I gather, it is just easier to take care of the shorter it is. Long or short, big brother Astro is such a handsome dood. Can't wait to see pictures. Also, you are scaring me about the cost. I haven't paid more than $45 to have her trimmed and groomed. Ugh!!!!
Betsy
Thanks for the info Betsy! I am going to make an appointment for Timbow to be trimmed next week. I am thinking of taking him to 2-2 1/2 in. I'm still so nervous. I am going to take Astro's pictures with me so they know what I'm looking for. :)
Just looked at your pictures. I can tell he was trimmed. He looks great!!!!
Thank you Betsy. He loved it. You could just see him sparkle. Hugs and an early Happy Easter.
Thanks so much Barb. I used several of you examples for Astro's first groom. He loved it...you can tell! He pranced around...look at me...look at me. All the best!
That is how we are going to keep Peri - 2 inches. I love the look.
It wasn't quite summer yet, but I am planning something similar for a few months from now.

adorable!
