I was tricked at first at the sweet roses I saw in flower arrangements at my son's wedding but the florist introduced me to cut flower kale.I hope to grow some next spring. I just put the garden to bed for the winter and I am thinking about spring : )

Here is a little article about them

You can see one, not the best example, in the upper left in the bridal bouquet.

Love the bouquet! Congratulations, BTW, when was the wedding?

Thanks, Karen. A week ago Saturday. I worried needlessly since it was mostly put together by the kids in a loft in Borooklyn but it was lovely.

I know this is OT, but I hope you will post photos here on DK. :)

There are a few on pages 63 and 66 of the November discussion in the PG. See what you miss by not being a member : )

I am a member, just not an active one. :)

Just looked, and it looks like it was a very beautiful and very joyful wedding! Mazel Tov!

Thanks Karen.

I had not seen the cut flower kale before, but I've been noticing the ornamental kale in a lot of fall planters and beds these past couple of months.  The colors of the kales seem to lend themselves best to autumn, I think. I wish my phone took pictures, there are two beautiful planters in front of my vet's office, and they change with the seasons. Currently, there is ornamental kale with chrysanthemums and fall foliage, very striking and attractive. I'll be there tomorrow, but I imagine they aren't looking so good right now after the storms.

I appreciate people going to the trouble of planting lovely things but right now there's a lot more to worry about in your area.
