Without leaving my home I can travel our beautiful country just by looking at your pictures here on DK
For many of us, harvesting of our vegetable gardens has begun. I'm excited to eat my first cucumber today. It's all mine. I'm going to peel and eat it whole.
It would be interesting to see some of your gardens. If you have a moment please share some pictures of your vegetable gardens and crops.
The theme this year--Vintage. Everything is what you have around the house. So here goes.
The home-made clay containers. What to do with the left-over clay drainage pipes? Dump some seeds into the dirt and see if anything comes up. Here is my first time with Portulacca that bloomed for the first time this morning.
String Art from old Drapery Cording
The celebratory cucumber--my first harvest.
Zinnias from seed to attract humming birds and bees--blooming today
The Vintage Garden as a Whole
To the left is a very new section. Needs some help. Here we are trying Asparagus and Garlic
Love the clay pipe containers. With the heat and humidity I never got to cover the blueberries and blackberries so I have't had one, hope the birds enjoyed them! Here's my "rustic" garden:
Luca tending the tomatoes:
There's some parsley and cilantro and there are cukes and squash but they all have suffered from the heat.
I'll take some more pics in the next few days of the "crops"-been great this year thanks to raised beds. Already have enough to start canning and have had some great tomato/cuke salads with fresh basil/oregano and parsley!
no u don't cook the cukes:) but putting it togther with tomatoes, basil, parsley etc-some good olive oil and a splash of balsamic vinegar makes it all worthwhile!!!
