Have you made your own plant stakes?  What items around the house did you make them from?

My husband made a trellis out of the twirl rods from mini-blinds.   I don't have a picture right now, but I'll post later.

I saw this at Lowes yesterday, but no way was I going to purchase one for $15.00   I need many for beans, peas, peppers. Low to the ground ( about 15 inches).  I think this would last a few months. Untreated, very thin, and one pepper would make it topple over.   They looked nice enough... but really, did our parents ever dream of purchasing a $15.00 trellis for one plant?  NOT

What have you done, that looks attractive but functional?

I took these photos about 10 days ago. The garden was pretty much  still dormant then and not cleaned  up for Summer so excuse the winter mess.

Already, the Snow Peas have taken to our home-made trellis.   It is low to the ground but long~ to fill the row, instead of tall.

This one is made from Furring Strips~ long thin strips of wood.  The sides are paint stir sticks  :)
