Surprise Visitor

I had a small tree with beautiful white blossoms appear practically in the brook this year. I thought it was a volunteer dogwood but looking at my photos I think it may be a viburnum. But other ideas welcome.

This is a lovely surprise!  Could it be Viburnum plicatum f. tomentosum (Doublefile Viburnum)?

It surely could be. The flowers were very large but I may have mistaken the clusters for one flower. Anyway I am grateful to the bird who must have "planted" it.
