F. suggested I start a discussion to ID this shrub.

The shrub is growing in an out of the place spot in two pots and has also layered itself on the ground.  This is the mess it has created,

It grows to about 3 feet with numerous stems which root quite readily.  It starts blooming in winter on leafless stems.  The flower ares 3/4 to 1 inch across.

This year it was blooming in January then February brought severe temperatures and two weeks of snow cover.  It stopped blooming.  The snow melted and the temperature became moderate so it started blooming again.

Can you name this shrub?  Sorry, no prize for correct answer.  lol

Sorry, I forgot the flower picture.

I really like it. The articles suggest growing it on a bank or cascading over a wall.

It would be nice to have something blooming in the winter.

Winter Jasmine maybe?

I think you've got it! Congratulations.

Was this a challenge? I just thought she was asking for help! LOL

That is it Ricki - thanks.  Since Betsy, who gave it to me, always called a plant after the person who gave it to her I will now call this Betsy's Winter Jasmine.

That's sweet. :)

I think Ricki nailed it. Here's a good link with photos that show the pink buds and the yellow flowers:

Way to go Ricki! Would love to see those blooms in the winter!
