Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
about what your Doods do all day, and how they get into things that they get into? This was a first, and hopefully a LAST!!
Usually when we get home from work, Morgan & Maddie both greet us at the door with some kind of "gift" in their mouth - toy, shoe, remote control... Well, tonight, when Jerry got home, Maddie greeted him, but not Morgan - very strange. He called her, still no Morgan. So he started looking around for her, and Maddie kept going into the "office" and barking. He looked in there, but didn't see her. Then he heard a little whine coming from under the desk - and there she was. She had somehow gotten the wire going from the keyboard to the computer wrapped around her neck and couldn't get out. And the way she was caught, she couldn't lay down, she had to sit there with the cord around her neck for who knows how long while we were at work. I have no idea how she did this, or why she was even under there in the first place! I have never even seen her go under there. I guess they must have been playing Hide & Seek!
But she must have been under there for a while, Jerry said that when he got her free, she took off running to the water bowl and drank it dry. I don't even want to think about what could have happened - I'm just so thankful that she's okay!

OMG that is scary! Time to go wireless! You know I know the feeling, considering they are sisters. Stella and Seattle love to find something to tear to shreads. Most of the time we keep them pinned in the kichen but every once in a while we are feeling nice and leave them out when we are out for a quick run. Never fails we find something damaged! Usually a shreaded bill. I'm not complaining.
I have to say the best one was the morning Maggie got up and found Stella barking and pointing at the corner at Quincy/ the cats bed. She went over (all sleepy) to investigate, picked up the bed and found a white fluff. She was thinking it was one of their fluffy ball toys. Stella reached down and gulped it up. All the suddened it dawned on her to grab her, open her mouth and look to make sure. It was NOT a fluffy dog toy. Quick thinking Maggie shook her head, mouth open towards the floor and out popped a fluffy....wet.... slimy..... excaped hampster. A little shaking up after his night of dog and hamster game but he is still alive and well back in his cage.
Holy Doodles! How scary is that story about Morgan and Maddie. Glad it turned out okay, though.
And the story about the hamster....that is funny, but not so much for the hamster. Glad that was okay, too.
My cousin in Atlanta has a black goldendoodle named Troy. One night right before bed, he'd done his business, then come back in through the doggie door with what my cousin thought was a dirty stufftie he had brought in from the backyard. Troy, with the toy still in his mouth, followed my cousin into her bedroom and laid down by the bed. Hmmmm....seems the "dirty toy" came to life after a couple of minutes. It was a possum Troy had picked up. My cousin about had a heart attack. The scared possum hid under the bed. My cousin chased it around her house with a broom trying to get it back outside. Of course Troy thought this toy was a barrel of fun. I laughed til I cried when my cousin told me this story. It took almost an hour to get the possum back outside. :-D All ended well, but it took my cousin a while to calm down enough to finally go to sleep!
LHM That would have scared me to death! So glad to hear Morgan is okay! That must've been terrifying! Thankfully he's a smart one and just stayed still till someone was home.
I keep a baby gate up to the hallway when no one is home so all rooms that way are inaccesible. Then I close the master bedroom door. They have access to the laundry, kitchen and family room. Those rooms are pretty much dog safe from the romping around they do.
LOL at the hamster episode! Not funny then, but after the fact. Glad to hear all is well there too!
