Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I'm reposting this from a friend on Facebook in the hope that somebody recognizes this beautiful pup. She is interested in finding the owners, not in rehoming him.  THANKS doodle friends!

Monday a very nice dog was found at the Powhatan Shell Station on Rt. 60. I believe that he has a loving home and I am asking for everyone to help me find his parents. He is a large lab or golden-doodle- his picture is attached. Please call my Cel phone at 540-309-9355 or work during business hours 804-419-0751 if you know his parents . I will keep safe at my house until his owner is found. He will not be released to just anyone claiming him- a claimant must supply identifying information regarding him.

Thanks Adina. This is a great site/service. I looked and didn't see any matching information, unfortunately. Somebody must be missing him terribly!
Thanks Nancy. Unfortunately, no microchip.
Well- I found his owners and guess what... They asked me if I wanted to keep him, so I now have a labradoodle. Thanks to all for help in finding his owners. I am so glad that I found them and that HE found me.
His owners had health problems and believed that he was too much dog for them. He has been well loved and taken care of- but they thought he needed to be with a younger family, like mine. I am a lucky mama!
I had to pop n here to put my 2 cents in. These folks thought they couldn't care for their dog so they left him in a gas station? WTD is that? If that's the case these folks should be sanctioned in some way.
I was thinking the same thing!! But, sadly, nothing really surprises me anymore. I guess better a gas station than a kill shelter????
Just to clarify- he was not dumped. He broke out of an e-fence and I found him actually really close to his home. His first family has health problems and were worried that he would break out again and get hit on 60. They asked me to keep him since I have a fenced in yard, and want him as an indoor pup. The took really good care of him and loved him enough to let him go on to another home better suited for him. I am so glad that they gave us this wonderful gift and the gift of a younger family to Buddy. I saw the 1st family yesterday and they really miss him- we are hopeing that after some time they can visit him.

I really don't want anyone thinking that the dumped this wonderful dog. They are good people who realized that Buddy could have a fuller life with us- kids, sibling dog, indoor life, dog park, etc. We love him so much already-but really who wouldn't. I could still see the pain in their eyes yesterday talking about him (they came by to give me his vet records).
I am sooo glad to read this. I know he'll have a great home with you! I hope I get to see him at the dog park very soon!!! Glad you're on doodlekisses too... lots of good information and fun stuff on here. Congrats Rebecca and welcome!!
Oh how I wish I could have a thousand doggies! Actually, Rebecca Rogers (new Doodlekisses member) found him and she is his new Mom. I just stuck my nose in when I saw that she was looking for the dog's owners. I imagined some family sorely missing the big lug and wanted to help. Rebecca has another sweet pup who is probably loving Buddy very much!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday at Stony Point!!!!
So glad this doodle boy found someone to love and care for him. Good for you Donna, for all your efforts and yay! Rebecca for taking him in.
I cannot believe someone would just abandon their dog like that! So glad all turned out well.

Happy to hear he was not just dumped! Good for those people who actually surrendered him to your family. It is sad they had to give him up, but great he came your way. Hugs to you all.
