He doesn't seem to be itching them. They seem like scabs. He has lots of hair and you can't see them until you move his hair. Maybe he has dry skin? I don't think they are
flea bites or anything like that they are kind of big maybe quarter to a dime in size....They have been there for a while. Please help?

Oh.:) It is sad when they are quieter than usual but you know that they are in pain....
Hi everyone!:) Thanks for responding to my question. Now I can finally tell you what Huff had on his skin. We went to the vet almost two weeks ago and I forgot what the name of his skin problem was. Now I remember though. It was called Pyoderma. He prescribed antibiotics (it was a very superficial case) for Huff and today is his last day he has to take them. Yay!:) I read online that Pyoderma is often mistaken for a staph infection. This is what it looked like:

He is getting much better now. The vet also told us to use shampoo with benzoyl peroxide in it. We haven't bought it yet but we are about to.:) I just wanted to let you all know and wish you a Happy Halloween!:)
Thank you Taylor for updating us. Is this contagious? Is it kind a an allergy that gets infected? I am so glad that Huff is doing better. Benzoyl peroxide is found in acne products.
For a complete description of Pyoderma see this link:

Thanks for the link. This is exactly what our Clancy had. He probably had it when he came to live with us but it took a while for us to notice. His was only on his pink little tummy and seemed 'mild' but was severe enough that he needed oral antibiotics. It has not recurred so it might have been caused by something in his previous life that hasn't happened again.
Pyoderma is usually a staph infection. I'm glad huff is getting better.
Thank you for coming back to this discussion to check on Huff's progress!:) Nancy, I mostly just saw it on his belly too but the vet said that if we were to shave him down (not happening, haha:)) there would be many more. No, it's not contagious. Ya, I have seen benzoyl peroxide in acne products before. Thanks for caring!:)
