Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I posted in the forum, but would like to get more opinions. What is considered "restricted activity" after a spaying and for how long do you try to keep a puppy from normal puppy play?  Bella is 5 days post-op and unless I expen her, she is hopping, jumping, running, wrestling, playing tug of war every minute she can.  I am hyper-viligant, but it's just getting futile as she struggles with me and that can't be good either.  Any ideas?

I think for the most part, they might self-limit, but with other dogs to play and roughhouse with, it could be something you have to monitor more closely. My experience is more with male neutering We tried to restrict as much as we could but they played and jumped etc anyway and it was fine.
Mia was quiet for about a day, but resumed her activity just fine after that. However, she was home with us and no other dogs around; and she did not go to dog parks, etc.

They told me to keep Coco from jumping after her spay last week...and then they brought her out on her leash and they could not keep her feet on the floor lol...As soon as we got home she ran through the house and leapt on the couch...she's been going full speed...scaring me to death but seems totally unaffected by it all. She only occasionally licks at the stitches...I think they poke her...they feel like little wires to me...they're kindn of "stickery".
