Hi Everyone, Penny isn't a heavyweight yet but the groomer says she's going to be 75-80 lbs. So if that's true, we belong here. Time will tell. At 5 months, Penny weighed 30+ lbs. which doesn't sound extreme to me. DH and I need to weigh her again as she gains weight almost everyday; she's 5 1/2 months now.

Several vets I know say to get a rough estimate of a puppy's adult weight, double their weight at 4 months, then add 5-10 lbs depending on the size of the breed. Weighing 30 lbs at 5 months, I'm guessing as an adult she might weight 60-65 lbs as an adult. I don't know how her groomer would get 75-80 lbs.

Sure.  You can never start too early.  She seems about normal in the weight category, but may get up to 70 pounds.  Don't let that be a goal for you.  If she is meant to be large, she will be large.  All the more to love.  I have had a couple of "heavyweights" but have a normal-sized doodle now.  Just let it be and if she belongs in the heavyweight group, so be it.
