With spring around the corner I realized that my new sneakers are still in the box with an inch of dust on them. I would walk but I need to meet someone in order to get off my lazy duff.

anyone interested in getting a walking group together? I am available most days since I work from home and the weekends. They only place I know of is the South Mountain Reservation that has walking trails.

I am open to suggestions!

Ticks are becoming a year round issue in our area due to the climate changes & I should be using it all year long but I don't like applying all those chemicals. Since we don't do the park trails in cold weather I tend not to use it.

I'd do the same but my guys get ticks in the yard : (

Dex and Kirby are good :)  Dexter has really recovered from his knee surgery.  I swear he hardly ever limps now even after a very long hike.  I replied to the other post that maybe we could try OG on 15-Apr.

Hi Leslie,  Hope all is well - you've been MIA for way too long. We meet at OG a couple of weekends ago & hopefully we'll get back there before the doodles are banned. Debbie & I did the green trail at Cheesequake - it was a nice little hike!  Maybe we could try to meet there or Holmdel park on a Sat or Sun.

Definitely!  I love Thompson Park (the one in Holmdel) too.  We've done almost all the trails at Cheesequake.  It's literally 5 min from us and we got there often.  I can only hike with one doodle though...Kirby is a good little hiker.

Just a reminder for those not going to Dewey Beach. There is the walk on the Palisades on April 28th if anyone is interested.

F - I had this date marked on the calendar. I was planning on bringing my husband Tom along. It's a little far and he knows where to go. When I was leaving the park Wednesday after seeing everyone, I got a call from him. He had decided to get out early and go for a bike ride. He's a big bicyclist and has been riding for years. He called because he got hit by a car. The driver had hit him, pulled over, turned around to see him laying on the road and then left! Someone from the fire dept saw the whole thing, called police, they got an ambulance and took him to the ER. So now he has a full leg cast, stitches, road burn on the side of his face and he's all bruised. He's got some healing to do but it could have been much worse. So now the 28th isn't looking that good for us, we'll have to see how it goes!

That is terrible but as you say it could be a lot worse. Hopefully the driver gets caught. What is wrong with some people? Thankfully someone else was there. I wish Tom a speedy recovery. There's always another hike : )

Thanks

My grandson's and daughter stopped by to say hello. My older grandson came on the canal walk with us, pointing out wildlife as we walked. It was a beautiful day for a stroll in the sun.

Pictures from today's walk and fun at the dog park in Colonial Park.

You guys are having so much fun and taking great pictures! The grandkids are precious.

Thanks F, the little grandson is the one I use in some of my pics for the photography club. It's hard to take pics and keep an eye on your dog at the same time. The dogs all got along, we kept having puggles joining the doods, I guess they were doodlewannabes. ;-)
