I was hoping we could have a fall romp, as we have had other years . Given how holidays fall this year September, once dogs are allowed on the beaches like Sandy Hook or Ocean Grove, might be an option.

I would definitely be interested.  Are you talking about the Manasquan dog beach?  I took my dogs there once and they loved it.  Let me know when you were thinking of going.

Hi Kyle,

    I have been told by a friend that at manasquan outlet they have really cracked down on off leash playing. She told me that a larger dog killed a small dog off leash there, so they are enforcing the only on leash policy. I can not swear to this, but just this week I was told this by someone in my pet therapy organization.

  I have a large backyard and live close to the beach. Asbury Park dog beach allows dogs there after 6 PM. I could have some dogs play in my backyard and go to the beach at 6 PM. Also, a friend told me about a nice place where dogs can swim without any waves. I do not know the details of it, but it is around Wall, close to Manasquan. If intersted, I can get the info.

I met a doodle at  L'Oreal who said there are no problems with leashes at Manasquan. I may head there tomorrow.

Sue....what a horrible thing to happen to any dog! I never take Maggie off leash there more so because I fear she will run away! If you find out anymore info on the "wave-less" beach near Wall, I would love to hear about it. Maggie loves the water!
F- I am local for the summer but would certainly try to make the trip back for a fall romp!

Yes, I live in northern NJ. We spend most of the summer with family in south Jersey.

We would really love to get to a fall beach romp and get a chance to meet some of you and your doodles.  I'm not familiar with any of the locations but It looks like they are all about 1 1/2 hours from us so any one would work for us.  The only weekend we CAN'T make it right now is September 27 and 28th. Hoping we can get one together.

I'm thinking September 15 might be good. I love sandy Hook but some people complain about the walk. The beach was, haven't been there since Hurricane Sandy, very deep and beautiful.

We're good with Sept. 15th and the walk, to get to a beautiful beach. Anyone here been to Sandy Hook since Hurricane Sandy?  I'm going to pencil it in on the calendar --and wait to hear what everyone wants to do.

Great! One of the reasons I like this beach is I don't worry about a doodle going astray where Ocean Grove is more crowded and nearer a road. But it would be nice to here if anyone has visited.
