Hi~ I just recently joined Doodlekisses. Sheeba is from Ryobi/Fozzy breeding born Oct 2008. She was orginally named Mercedes. She is such a sweet girl, very intelligent and we adore her.

That is so odd that it just started happening now. I guess she is a late bloomer with her coat. :) I had envied your luck of getting a curly pup without the mat problem. Hudson's started soooo early (about 3 months). He still mats easily, but it is definitely better now that he is older and his coat isn't transitioning. He also mats badly around the cheeks, and under the jaw. His other bad areas are around his neck, his groin areas on each side, and his tummy. Guess that doesn't leave much else, does it? :) I usually just have them shave his tummy down shorter because he hates to have that brushed. We have been able to keep him in a longer coat since fall. He hasn't been shaved since September, and that was just a routine shave taking off a little to keep him cooler. I have been getting him groomed about every 4 weeks now. Good luck with the groomer. He/she must be really good if you had to wait that long to get in. Let us know how it goes.

Hope everyone has a happy new year! I just wanted to check in to let you all know Lucy has started getting MATS!! We made an appt. with a groomer 3 months ago (just after her last grooming), and 3 months was the earliest I could get in (this groomer came highly recommended by Lucy's vet). Never again will I wait 3 months! The past month the mats started appearing, and now they are totally out of control. I used thinning shears on the worst of them and worked and worked to get them out before her grooming tomorrow. I DO NOT WANT HER TO BE SHAVED! We will see... BTW, it was her cheek areas that matted the worst. Her hair there is like fine cotton candy and it seemed it wanted to mat immediately just as soon as a mat was out. If this groomer can't get me in again in 2 months I'll go elsewhere. Its just not worth it to wait.

Sandi, just wondering if your daughter has a dog? Maybe even a cat could prompt Brewster to mark. Or it might just be the new space and he wants to make it his own. In any event, it does sound like he's making himself at home!

Well, we've arrived at my daughter's house and Brewster made himself at home by marking a chair! He's never done that before!!!
Happy Chrisrmas to all!

We are having a quiet holiday after a hectic Thanksgiving and a couple of birthday parties in early December.  We even had a cat in the house for 4 days.  Lets just say it was a "learning " experience for the pups.  I will post our Christmas card on my page...I sent a copy to Debb  (did you get it?).   Tura is about 50 lbs now, Dolly about 30.  All doing well.

We'll be spending Christmas Eve with immediate family, and Christmas Day with extended family (all local). I just learned today a close cousin was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and this may well be her last Christmas. It will be a bittersweet day I'm sure, but she'll be surrounded with loving support from family and friends.

I hope everyone here has a healthy, and happy holiday...

We will be spending time with family in the area. Unfortunately, Hudson can't come along. I wish he could. We hate leaving him, as he seems like one of our kids! My husband swears there is a real human inside him!

Merry Christmas Everybody!
