I love the fluffy look of Lucy in all of her pictures. Hudson would probably not allow me to use that dryer though- esp. if it is louder than the ones groomers use. He hates the dryer there- so unless he comes from the groomer, I guess it is the curly, scruffy au natural look for him! I'll have to look for that shampoo though. It sounds nice.

Thanks for the Dolly info.. she's really a cutie pie.

I use a portable high-velocity pet hair blower to dry Lucy. It's a Metro Air Force Quick Draw, and worth every penny it cost. Here's a link to the product: http://www.petedge.com/product/Grooming/Grooming-Equipment/Dryers-D...

It uses high velocity air to 'blow off' the water droplets, rather than using high heat. It does produce slightly warm air, though. It is a bit noisy, but Lucy is completely use to the noise now. Its no more noisy than the dryers they use at the groomers. I go inch by inch through Lucy's hair blowing off the dampness after towel drying. I also use cotton in her ears during the process for protection from the high velocity air. It gives her a rather fluffy blow out.

BTW, the best shampoo and conditioner I've found for Lucy's hair type and color is Kelco's Plum White (aka Wild Animal All Out White) shampoo, and Wild Animal's Lilac Cream Rinse (aka Kelco's Plum Cream Rinse). Another great conditioner is Kelco's Ultra Silk (aka Wild Animal's Silk 'n Silk). All can be found at kimlaubecoshop.com. They have the exact same products marketed under 2 different names, Kelco and Wild Animal. Don't ask me why. They have dozens of formulations for all different hair types, and these particular products work best to keep the coat fluffy and white and have anti static properties. The Plum White/All Out White shampoo also adds body to limp, thin hair. I LOVE the smell, and they use only all-natural ingredients. I've tried many many different shampoos and conditioners and this is by far the best I've found. They dilute 50:1 so one bottle lasts a long time. This is lots more info than you asked for, but I hope it helps!

Dolly is 4 1/2 months old (born on April fools day) and a Australian Multigen Labradoodle. She will be around 30-35 lbs. She is light apricot but may end up lighter, long slightly wavy hair. The breeder wants me to wait another month before getting her hair cut as she wants a picture of it long. Had a bath today. Good thing she likes being brushed.
Debb what do you use for drying Lucy? With 2 almost white dogs I have to figure out a way to bathe them myself!

Jeanne, Dolly is a doll! Looks like Tura is in doggy heaven with her new permanent playmate. I hope she accepts having Dolly leave for weeks/months when she goes to the breeder.

I have a few questions... how old is Dolly, what kind of doodle is she, i.e, labradoodle, goldendoodle, etc., and is she a medium or standard size? She looks like a lot of the goldendoodles we see around here, with her coloring and hair type. Sorry so many questions, but they're the standard ones that run through my head when I hear someone got a new doodle puppy. Sounds like you're having a great time.

Nancy, I was looking through previous posts and saw you asked a question I never answered regarding Lucy and puppy vs. adult food (or maybe I did, and just can't find it?) Lucy's been on adult food for the last month and a half or so. She too picks at her food, but does eat when she's good and hungry. I don't fret over her eating habits too much, as it doesn't seem to affect her daily toilet routine, which was/is my main concern. The way I figure it, when she's hungry a lot she's growing, when she picks at her food she's slowed down. BTW, I feed Solid Gold's Hundchen Flocken (I think that's the correct spelling!).

Angie, Debb, Nancy and Sandi! Hello, I am alive but tired. Good news is Tura and Dolly are getting along great and playing all day. Bad news, Tura is ignoring me and seems to have forgotten all her training. So I am going to take them out individually for some 1:1 time every day to remind them who is in charge... They do get up early though so the days are long.. It is really fun and if I ever get a decent picture of the 2 of them I will post it.
Debb I was unable to get the day care thing to open but I'm sure lucy will get more confident the more she is there and playing. it seems dogs find another dog that is the same age or energy level to play with. That has been my experience anyway.
Dolly is so sweet and affectionate and no mouthing at all.....how did I get so lucky. I'm not sure I told you all that she is part of a breeding program so we are a Guardian family for her. After her "career" the breeder pays for the spaying. So we will learn alot about mating and pregnancy and whelping. Should be exciting. Hope you are all doing well. I'll try to get a picture up!

Yes, Nancy... there were tons more dogs earlier. They all go into crates from noon to 2pm for naptime. Lucy was out because she was there for only half a day. I picked her up at noon.

Even though day care wasn't physically taxing, Lucy was exhausted from all the mental stimulation. She slept most of the afternoon away, and this evening plunked down on the floor earlier than usual (no evening walk, either... only because my daughter's B-day was today and she was over for a late dinner). So if I ever need her to be tired I have just the ticket :)

She's a good dog... couldn't ask for a better one... well, I could ask for her not to pull the dish towels every single darned day! LOL...
