I met a number of doodle owners today at Pet-A-Palooza including Eva Dahl who told me about this site.  My Goldendoodle Val and I had a good time even though she was nervously overwhelmed by how many dogs were there.  We met a black labradoodle that she was able to romp with for awhile though.  I hope to meet you all at a future planned event!

Sorry it took so long to respond, but I just came back from vacation :)
I'm so glad that you looked up the site and joined up. There are so many resources of information, plus good ole fashioned great pictures and video's to look at. It's interesting reading stories of how our doodles are so alike, yet so different.
I'm sure Val will get used to the doodles. At Petapalooza it is overwhelming, plus being hot and windy can make for some strange environments.
Which side of town do you live on? We could try to get a little romp together if the weekend is good for you. I do canine therapy at 3pm on Sundays, so maybe later Saturday afternoon if that can work for you? let me know, Eva

Thanks Eva...it was nice meeting you. Val stayed at her grandparents house this weekend since we were out of town and we came back to a completely matted Doodle. She spent the entire weekend swimming, so it was worth it for her to have fun. Taking her to get shaved down on Saturday so that she can swim as much as she wants now that it's hotter.

My passion (besides Val) is cars and racing cars. This weekend is a bad weekend for me as I will be at the track all weekend. Possibly the following weekend?

My month of May is extremely busy with my sister's wedding, a track day and a trip to Philadelphia in back to back weekends.

Welcome Ryan :) I usually try to greet everyone I see that lives here in So NV who joins DK, but it has been a little busy lately. If you follow this group you will see the postings for the meet ups. We have them all year round so don't worry if you are a little busy right now..... Just a warning, the summer months we meet at 7:00 to 7:30am due to the heat, so get to bed early LOL

Thanks for the compliments on the pics from this last weekend. The grey and black doodle is a Goldendoodle and just a precious dog, and her owner is really wonderful too. Hope to see you at the meet ups, and feel free to start or jump in on any discussions.

Thank you for the welcome. I would really love to get another Doodle, but am not sure my house is big enough/set-up well enough for another dog. Soon enough, just waiting for the right time when we can give the puppy as much attention as Val had when we first got her.

I get to work by 7:30 on the weekdays, so it will seem like a normal day for me. :)

We have a really small house and yard too. We chose to get a medium size for the second dog just for this reason. Also, since I take them everywhere and most of the time by myself, the smaller size does make it easier on me. The size difference doesn't make a difference in their play, the little one is a holy terror and Buddy is soooo patient!

Glad you will be available in the mornings, once you see all of us with two or more, you might get that itch ;)

I have a feeling I will. Val is "medium sized" I believe. I was expecting her to be bigger, but think she turned out the perfect size. She just got weighed yesterday and is 48 pounds now.

I swear dogs grow to certain heights based on what they like to do. Like she is as tall as she could possibly be to still be able to get under and sleep under the bed. My parents dog grew just tall enough to be able to rest his head on their table. She didn't grow that tall because she's never seen a table scrap. :D
