I think one sounds perfect if you go places and always take her. People accept one well-behaved dog - and they accept two, but it is hard to get that second one quite as perfect. The reason is that the one you and the dood you have are used to each other and know what to expect. The second one would take quite a while to bring up to the same standard. But I do know people who have more than one perfect dog - not us!!!

I can see that her tail is darker. Perhaps Clancy's isn't exactly red but it is pretty striking and darker than our apricot Ned. Two dogs is really quite fun. It does take away some of the freedom you have to take one everywhere - two are not always welcome where one well behaved dog always is. But two dogs are fun to deal with. They play (and two doodles play differently - they wrestle) and entertain each other. We have four now and frankly it is a bit too many for travel but just right for home. We have an RV and are going to have to figure the logistics on that one.
