Sierra wants Nimbus' food and he wants hers. How do you make sure they eat their own? Feed at separate times? Nimbus knows "leave it" but she doesn't.

It's easiest for us to feed at the same time. Mine eat the same food but they aren't allowed in the other dogs bowl. If I were to try to feed one and not the other it would be a disaster with the non eating dog trying to get food. By feeding them say the same time but in a small area (our pantry) I started by just standing between them. So they couldn't switch bowls. Now they both go to their bowl and are more focused on eating rather than moving around or switching bowls. You could also separate them but feed at the same time, like in their individual crates. If we have dogs visiting, my girls eat in the kitchen behind the island and we put the other dogs in the pantry or the dining room.

Thanks, Abigail!

This is typical puppy behavior.  We fed Ned kind of around a corner (i.e. a cabinet) thus blocking the visual, and stood guard removing Ned as soon as he ventured toward the other dogs' bowls. We changed the dogs to an All-Life stages food simply because it was easier if Ned was successful in his quest for the other dogs' food.

When we have visiting dogs, we feed in separate areas and close the doors.

Nancy, mine are also around the corner. But they know where the other's food is. I guess I'll really have to stay and watch them eat..
