Can't get my header to change from purple

I know I have to go under advanced and then change the color code somewhere.  I want it to be orange.  Can anyone help me?

Dee Dee...what a beautiful page. It has been so long since I have changed my page that I am not sure but this evening Nancy of Ned and Clancy will be on line to answer all those questions...unless her first granddaughter is born today!!!! I think the header color has to do with the template you chose. I think you might be able to fill it with a photo but not a color. I really need to do something with my page. I just like it when we are in between seasons and it is a good generic page. The bummer is that you can't save a page and then revert back to it. Once you start messing around, you are done for unless were to make step by step notes which I may do next time. I may just print out a screen shot of my page so I can try to duplicate it next time. Last year I was totally up on each season with my page...lazy now I guess. Sorry...not much help at the moment.

Yes, this is how I've done it in the past. I just pick a template that has the header color that I want. There may be another way, but I haven't found it.

Here I am to save the day!!! teehee...... It is no different than the side color. You go to All Options. That is where the color background choices are as well as where you can download a picture to be part of your background. Be sure and hit save. Advance is when you put a code in that becomes a picture. Which you did and looks very cool by the way!

Now I hope DeeDee sees the how-to. And Jane too. It is fine to change the template though when you just want to change things up but not necessarily personalize. Plus there are the basic colors of the theme that aren't offered as color choices...

Ok, I know you can get rid of the purple. Go to the Advanced and ERASE everything on the page. If that is where you put the code for your sides, don't erase that. Then save and see what you have. I have NEVER not been able to change the color of my header, so it puzzles me, but I am sure we can do this! ANOTHER IDEA: go to all options and select transparent for the header and save. See what you get then. I like purple but...... Are your sides a code on Advanced or a picture you uploaded? I have a Mac and I can drag some (not always) the picture into my i'photo. When I do that, I can put the picture in as a picture from my computer so I do that where it doesn't want a code.

Wow, I love teachers, especially savvy ones like you. I will try this when I can't sleep next tyme. DH and DD (doodle daughter) out of town and Sheila is just beside herself. Been after me to play all day. You always build up my confidence to try things. Unfortunately, next Fri. is the day to get my other shoulder repaired--only 25 yrs later. The doc told me no more cortisone, my chart goes back forever. Hopefully, the cuff is not torn. Had the other one done about 10 yrs. ago. Babies, dogs jerking on arms, you know, life. He says better to do in 50's than older. Crap. And I was just getting organized, somewhat!! Got doodle calendar, license plate frame and cup, all just for myself. Ned not on it. I have to get the one Ned is on!! Take it to my groomer. Get Sheila grown out and looking more doodly, not poodly. That photo of Ned in the sun is my all time favorite!! He is a beaut! Clancy is a perfect name for Clancy-big galute looking guy!
