Northern VA Area Doodle Group. We schedule monthly Doodle Romps to get our doodles together to play. Winter Romps are going to be held outdoors now at the Beatley Library Dog Park on Duke Street in Alexandria.
Location: Northern Virginia
Members: 85
Latest Activity: Jul 24, 2018
Is there a person/family that is willing to take over this group? My family has recently moved out of the area and can no longer manage this group and organize the Doodle Romps... Please contact me if anyone is still interested in keeping this group going -
Andrea Payne - andreabpayne@pobox.com, 703-929-6333 THANK YOU!
Previous Doodle Romps have been held:
Alexandria Location:
5000 Block of Duke Street
East of the Charles E. Beatley Jr. Library
Alexandria, VA

Parking is at the library parking lot. This is a pretty large fenced in area with plently of trees, benches, grass, and drinking water. The crowd there is pretty regular and are always friendly to newcomers.
This place is easy to find:
Take 395 to Duke Street Exit (EAST)
Continue on Duke Street about 2 1/2 miles and it's on your left right before the Library.

oh oops - I am sorry - I could have just asked right here. Romp for 2/26/12 still on?
Hi Andrea and Chancy!
I will tell Nick that you all say hello! I can't wait to start and see how Tanner does. I've been trying to get to the doodle romps but haven't made to one yet. I'm definitely going to make an effort to go to this one, especially since he'll be a little more trained. Tanner needs some doodle buddies!
Thank you!
Hi Leslie and Tanner :-) Nick is FANTASTIC! You'll really be amazed in Tanner's behavior and how quickly it changes. We have probably referred 5 people to him in the last year. ALL have had glowing reviews...so I hope this works out for you guys too! Tell him Chancy's family says hello! :-)
We are having a romp in 2 weeks at ADDO if you guys can make it, that would be great! I've sat out the last few as our son is now walking and running at 17 months and I was afraid the dogs would run him over, but Jim has been taking Chancy...hope to join this month! Good Luck!
Hi Andrea,
I forgot that I had even posted about Tanner's obedience issues on here until now. How funny that Off Leash K9 was recommended to me earlier this week by my dog walker. Tanner and I start training with Nick at Off Leash K9 tomorrow morning! I'm so excited and I've heard and read nothing but fantastic things about Off Leash K9. Thanks for the referral, I might see if he'll knock off the $50 even though I've already paid. Luckily, Woodbridge is my hometown so going there is easy for me. Thanks for the advice!
Leslie and Tanner
Hi. This is Emma... I met some of you at Doodle Romps at Dogs Day Out but havent joined here until now. I am looking forward to connecting with more Doodle owners in the area.
Hi Leslie and Tanner-
Our doodle, Chancy, who is now 2 has been through every training option possible. We have spent a small fortune on training for her...we finally found a solution that worked and have several other doodle friends who have also gone and said it was the best investment. It's a bit pricey at about $500, but it works. Nick @ Off-Leash K-9 Training in Woodbridge was the best thing we did. You can check out his profile if you are on facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Off-Leash-K9-Training-LLC/397477073668
5 Lessons (5 weeks) and you can teach your dog to do most everything you need. If you mention, Chancy Payne (our Doodle)...I think you get $50 off when you are referred in. He has other locations, but Woodbridge was closest to us in Alexandria... Good Luck! -Andrea, Jim & Chancy Payne
I have my Tanner puppy who is 11 months old (as of tomorrow). He's got the basics, sit, wait, lay, give paw. Mr. Tanner has turned into quite the escape artist and gets out of the yard a lot, he pulls on the leash, he really just needs to learn to come back when called and some basic manners.
Does anyone have any suggestions for great dog obedience classes in the NOVA area? I would love to take him to Old Towne School for Dogs but I don't think I can afford it. Although, he and I would really benefit from their training!
We live in WPA but have family in Woodbridge. Would be interested in joining one of the NOVA romps sometime on a visit!
I'll be working the Mattaponi Agility Trial next Sunday :(
Remy and I will try to come to Vienna in Nov. Sorry.
