Went for a discussion with our trainers about obedience training now that Sage is finished with Puppy Preschool. They have a residency program that is 3 weeks in total. We think we will do 2 weeks at first and then the 3rd week later on. At the end she will know all commands and be reliable off and on leash. Anybody have any experience with resident training? These are certified trainers (CPT). The cost is pretty substantial but seems worth it.

Hi Adina

I would love to have some recommendations on trainers. Thank you. It seems like there is do much more to training a fog than I remember. My other dogs were a LONG time ago. I really appreciate everyones information.

I will probably be the only person here to disagree~ We do offer a 4 week training program where the puppy is with our trainer and when they are done they usually pass their CGC! We usually start classes between 11 and 15 weeks. When training is done the owners come to pick up their puppy and have and exit interview with the trainer where they are given material and a 2 hour training session for just the owner.

All of my dogs are trained this way and I havent missed out on the bonding!

If anyone has been to my house they know my dogs are Trained with a capital T

arent they Troby?!?
Hi Kendra.
Interesting about your trainers. Wish they were around here! Your dogs are great. They have wonderful manners. We may yet do a board and train but we've found a very intuitive trainer and all 3 of us will attend the training sessions. One of us will be the handler but the rest will be there to listen. I like this trainer's methods so far and Sage is a lot calmer with a house leash. I'll keep you
posted.
