Clara spent a week with the personal trainer. The trainer said Clara is super smart but reacts better to slow deliberate movements, basically everything I haven't been doing. Since coming home we've had no nipping and are doing 100 times better about jumping. I am so thankful! Our other dog was a bassett hound and he's complete opposite. So its a learning process.

Such good news!

I a.m. So encouraged by Clara's experience at Trainers. DerbyDoodle is going in two weeks for two weeks with the trainer...she calls it boot camp. Mine is a very independent, sometimes stubborn, dominant puppy. Really does a lot of good things, but the dominance issue has to be nipped in the bud. It's crazy I a.m. Her chief handler, care giver etc..my husband very little involvement...yet, she determined he's the boss & I guess that I'm chopped liver...
Happy for you & Clara

Rodney - I wanted to tell you that my trainer told me not to put Clara in puppy daycare.  I remembered you had mentioned this in my other post.  She stated that the daycare could cause the biting/nipping to start up again.  Clara has tested me since she's been back home too.  I've held firm and used the trainer tips and we're still doing really well.  Hope your boot camp is successful.

Glad to hear hear things are going better! Sending only positive thoughts!
