Murphy likes to bite at her dog tags usually about once a day when she's in her active period. The trouble is, her teeth marks kind of obliterate the important information on the tag. Now we want to add the tag for her microchip and I'm reluctant to put it on until I can be assured she can't get to it. Something that would hold it higher on the collar would be good and was wondering if anyone has a solution. Thanks!!

These are great tags that attatch onto the collar I've used them for years, very inexpensive, very durable, dogs can't reach them to chew them!

Try dog ids. They build the tag right into the collar itself. I just had them make one for my dog Thor, and it's wonderful! He can't get at it since it is a permanent part of the collar. They guarantee the tag, and for a very small fee will replace it if your info changes. I am very pleased with ours and think they did a great job!
Thank you Ann and Megann! These are excellent suggestions. Do you think these tags can be used to replace county license tags as well or are they just for dog IDs? It sounds like you can put anything you want on them.

Hi Anne,

I use the Boomerang Tags on Yadi and I love them. He has 2: one with just my contact info, and the other one has his microchip # (just in case) and his county license information. I asked my vet if that should be a problem and they said no, as long as I included the county name and the ID #. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hi Rachel,

That's good to know. Thanks so much!!

It probably won't replace the county license tag, but you're right that they can put the number on there.  Here in my county the license number changes every year so it didn't make sense for me to put it on there.  I would keep the license just in case there wold ever be a question, but you could always call your county office and see what they say too.  Hope this helps!
Thanks Megann. I'll definitely keep the original tag but will put the county name and licence number on the collar tag. Thor is so cute. he's kind of retriever-ish looking like Murphy.
The Boomerang tags are fabulous and much safer than tags that dangle from the collars.  There have been some near misses with tags getting caught in air vents or in other dogs jaws during games.
Thanks, Nicky. After all the glowing reviews I ordered them yesterday.
I wouldn't use anything else now and you will find they will be with you in jig time (Irish expression for fast!)
