black nose turning pink?!?!?!

Hi - I am new to DK and loving all of the info and pictures....it is soooo addicting!  I feel like I have a lot of questions being that we are first time Goldendoodle owners and he is just a pup (5 months) but will start with this one.  His nose is turning pink on the outside.  It's been gradual and it wasn't until I was looking back at pictures of when we first got him that I noticed his nose was almost all black back then.  He is cream w/apricot (not sure what the correct word is to describe his color) in coloring if that means anything.  Is this normal????

My moms Bichon's noses would turn from black to pinkish brown back & forth...almost with the seasons every year...maybe it'll turn back? I know there is a group for Doodles w/ pink noses! Good luck with your baby!!!

Connor is my shaded red/gold goldendoodle whose nose started off black as coal. At 3 yrs old, his nose is kind of a cross between liver and black. He is adorable! Simon is our 18 month old cream/apricot Australian Labradoodle. His nose was liver @ 4 months. It has changed colors to pink, rose but is now almost back to liver again. It is not at all unusual for the really light doodles to have liver or chocolate noses.
Your baby's coat color will probably change over the next year or so as well. :-) He is absolutely adorable, by the way!

Chester is an apricot doodle, his nose turns brown in the winter. I was told it is called snow nose and is caused by lack of sunlight. It turns black again in the summer.

Thanks for all of the responses! We live in the Seattle area so 'snow nose' due to lack of sunlight makes perfect sense LOL.......

What is interesting is I live in Houston and we do have more sunny days rather than cloudy ones. I'm beginning to think it is the length of daylight in the day, rather than the quantity of days or intentsity of the sun.

This may be a normal phenomenon, but I used to work as an Animal Health Technician. One of the things I learned is plastic feeding dishes can impact the colour of a dog's nose. Something to consider if you're using one.

We live in Mississippi, and our Wrigley's nose turned from black to liver/pink. I was hoping it would though. I love it!

Its definitely a lab thing and it is supposed to happen with them. Even the show dogs do it. Paws too. Mostly on the yellow and cinnamon and brown ones. It will happen every year when weather changes. Happening to my Lil Sheila too and I love it. She is only 10 lbs., so I love it that she has SOME lab left in her!!!!!!

Hi Kristine,

Our doodle Daisy is also an apricot-cream color. Her nose went from jet black to completely pink after she turned a year old. She has one little black spot left in the center of her nose. She's now 4 years old and it has stayed that way. Her nose color isn't tied to the weather. My guess is that it's normal. Maybe it's typical for those doodles who are apricot or cream colored. I have seen some golden retrievers with pink noses. My red doodle has a jet black nose.

I live in Texas too. I did not know of such a thing! Post some pics of your doodles with the color changes :) sounds adorable!
