Hershey has been displaying...ahem, boyish behavior....on anything! Pillows on the sofa, our legs, my daughter, a towel hanging on a chair, my exercise ball, anything! Our trainer recommends getting him neutered ASAP! My vet says that he recommends 6 months, but really anytime is ok.....I don't know what to do.

My first inclination is to have it done now (he's 14 weeks), but I don't want to retard any developments, but I also don't want any more to start. I would prefer to do it before he starts marking everything in sight.

Any thoughts on this?

Duncan was neutered at 12 weeks. He's 7 months old now and absolutely perfect.
Luca was neutered at 9 or 10 weeks and now is 16 mos. He seems fine. there are lots ofarticles on early spay and neutering on the web.
I have heard that the longer they have to develop these habits, the less likely that neutereing will correct the behaviors. If your vet says ok, I would go for it.
I would go for it as well. Our puppy was neutered before we took him home at 10 weeks. He's now 15 weeks and has never displayed any of this "boyish behavior". I don't think he has a clue about any of that. He squats like a girl.
Oh no, don't say....
We have an appointment on Monday for Hershey to be neutered, if the vet thinks he checks out ok.
Hershey is at the vet today getting neutered and microchipped. The vet checked to see if the "guys" were visible and they were. I pick him up at 5:30pm.
