We get our puppy in Jan. so I have been reading and researching in preparation for the big day.

I have read with interest the widely lauded Bully sticks for chew toys.  So I looked up bully sticks.  Lol, I had no idea they were made from the p****s of a bull, I'm not quite sure how I feel about that.  You never know what you might learn on Doodle Kisses, some of it might be TMI  lol

LOL ... I use that little fact to torture my mail friends. "Guess what my dogs are chewing on?"

Is nine - ten weeks to young to start letting your puppy chew on these type of treats? My puppy of course wants to chew, chew, chew.

Bully sticks are awesome!! Just make sure you get the odor free ones or you will be grossed out and your puppy will smell awful lol
I got over the gross factor quickly.... Because Shelby loves them (she is now 3) and with a puppy it's a good stretch of peace and quiet. That little fact does creep out all my friends though :)
Ah yes. Gross indeed. But I'm sure I've eaten worse in a hot dog! LOL
Do the odor free ones just come in the stick shape? I'd really like to try a braided one to see if it lasts more than an hour but I'm afraid of the smell!

Yes, the gross factor indeed, but, I guess if it is a long lasting chew then it would definetly  be worth it.  Do pet stores sell them or do you order online ?  I am thinkin I may not want a big slobbery kiss after my puppy had been slobbering all over his bully stick lol .     Thanks for the heads up on the odor free.  Does it smell like what I think it smells like?

Thanks  for the comment about hot dogs, I may never have another one.

Libby is twenty months old and I just cannot bring myself to buy a Bully Stick!  So far she is fine with all the treats and bones we give her!  ha ha

Libby, I am with you, just the thought of handling that sucker and knowing what it was in it former life eeewww.

I was giving jackson bully sticks. I only gave it to him when cleaning ears or cutting nails. But jackson had alot of eye discharge. It was reddish in color and stained his face. Maybe a coincidence, but when i stopped giving him bully sticks i noticed his eyes cleared up. My vet said she hates bully stick and suggested all natural bones marrow or elk. Jackson loves Elk Antler pricy but last very long.

Do you know where to buy these reasonably priced? I also gave my puppy a potato starch stick..she loved it.

Beef tendons (AKA wishbones). Charlie loves them, I do too, they don't stink!
