Our pups have been doing fine sleeping through the night in their own crates (travel kennel style) in their own room the past 3 weeks . I put them to bed at 8:30pm and they wake up at 8am.  It was like paradise!  :)    But the past 2 mornings, they have been barking at 5am-5:30am.  My husband usually is up real early to get ready for work at that time.  But it never bothered them before.  So i took them out to do their thing, and then put them in my bedroom, so they could relax . I mean, so i could go back to sleep, really.  Ayla on leash attached to my bathroom, Storm's leash attatched to my bedroom doorknob. I'm afraid they may chew up my laundry! Ayla loves to eat our socks! :)  I just tell them " Go to sleep" , and they put their head down and sleep ! :)              Is this a bad habit i am starting????

Have you tried putting them to bed later in the evening?  We have been putting Buddy to bed at 10:30pm for most of his life and he gets up around 8am or so.  There was on occassion times when he would bark earlier and so we started telling him "no bark" and he would go back to sleep until we got him at 8.  He was old enough that we knew he could hold it that long.  Now of course if he continued to bark we would take him out.  But generally once he barked and we told him "no bark" he would be quiet.
Thanks Melissa!  I will try keeping them up a little bit later now.   Tonight i'll put the kids to bed, their usual 8:30-9pm, then keep the pups up till 10pm with me,  i usually stay up late anyway.  :)  I also take away drink from them at 7pm, and let them outside at 8:30pm.  :)
It is good to take the water away at that time and now if you keep them up later take them out right before you put them in bed.  Hope it works! :)
I think it is amazing that they could go that long without having to go to the bathroom. My puppies always got me up in the middle of the night, at least once, to go to the bathroom. They might hear your husband and think it is time to get up or they do need to go potty. When my dogs were little, I would always take them out around 4:30 am and then bring them into bed to snuggle and get more sleep time. My Fudge would sleep until 10 am now if I let her and Vern is getting better about sleeping later. It sounds like you have some great dogs.

Thanks!  Your Fudge can sleep till 10am !   Wow!

Yes, i remember our first week with our Storm, i was up 12 midnite, 3- 4, even 5am!   Basically , day time he was out on the grass every 30-45 minutes!     Ayla, was tough the 1st week, because she seemed to like to jump in our kids bathroom and do the deed there! And she was sick the 1st week, and on medication for her gigardia- and to harden her stool.   I think that my husband has been cooking sausages early in the morning! And maybe the smells awake Ayla!!   She is so different from Storm, she will scavenge the kitchen! She seems to be always hungry!! :)  Heh heheh hhe
