I am about to fly to Colorad to see my mom and pick up my doodle!  This is my first and I am soooo excited!  I am trying to get everthing thing together.

I know I will need the basic/ and I have those seeing this will be our second dog.  We currently have a chocolate lab.

The doodle that we are going to adopt will be a medium and 8 weeks old.  What size crate would be best for the flight home?

I have never flown with a pet...any advice?

What are ya'll favorite gear? Toys ETC..

My puppy wieghed 6pds when I picked him up. I bought a medium sherpa bag. I remember being so nervous but the flight went smoother then I expected. The only stressful part was I had to carry him in my arms through security. I flew jetpaws (jetblue). We took two old sheets, babywipes, water bowl, treats and puppy pads. For potty time we put sheet down then pads. We threw the sheet away after each stop. I took a brush and started combing him since the first day I held him. The breeder said he wasn't a good fetcher so we took a kong ball with treats stuffed in middle. He loves to fetch now. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy all the excitment of meeting your new best friend!
How exciting! I would bring a few old towels and Sleepypod "Dry Fur" pads for the crate. The favorite puppy toys around my house would be "Mingo" the flamingo (West Paw), squeaky rubber balls (JW), produce shaped treat dispensing toys (Planet Dog), and led light up rubber balls for fetch in the dark.

One of Luna's favorite toys as a puppy (and now at 2.5 years old) is a big plastic bottle (juice, pop etc.).  They make lots of noise, they "run away" from the puppy and the best part... when it wears out you just recycle it!

A few things about bottles:

- Wash them out (mostly so you don't get juice/pop all over your house!)

- Remove the cap and the plastic ring from under the cap (I cut it off with scissors)

- Don't leave your pup unsupervised with a bottle since they can chew off pieces if left alone with it long enough.  Luna is now 2 and she leaves her bottles alone unless we're playing with her.

Luna loves her bottles :)
