Zoe is almost 5 months now and I know that puppy hiccups are common, but what I find odd is that she gets hiccups about 30 minutes before we normally get up in the morning (about half the time).  So, no recent food or water intake.  Has anyone else experienced this?  I'm not overly concerned although a couple of times she has thrown up (usually because of some illicit wood chip or acorn ingested - she'll put anything in her mouth!).  the vet told us that if she's thrown up <fill in the illicit item>, then not to worry, it's normal.

Should I be concerned about these frequent hiccups in the early morning, or is this just a normal puppy thing?

Enzo just turned 5 months yesterday. She has been slowly outgrowing the hic-ups. Where it use to be a few times a day...now it's maybe once or twice a week. Vet said it was purely a puppy "thing". Funny tho how Zoe gets the same time every morning!
My guy at 14 months old still occasionally has the early morning hiccups that wake me up, but he remains asleep.
Haven't really figure out why, but as he carries on sleeping I thought it wasn't something to worry about.
Sparky had them too! It was every morning but it is now a few times a week. He is 16 months old.

Good to know!! Thanks for the responses!  I won't worry about it then.
