We have a small pond with a 3 step waterfall in the back yard.  We recently let it dry up because it needs some work and a new pump.  Well, Hurley has decided that those 3 steps are really fun.  Problem is the top of the pond backs up to a neighbors yard which is about 6 feet lower than our yard. There is a couple of feet of fence at the top of then back of the pond but we have caught Hurley with his front paws on that fence looking over contemplating if he should take that leap.  Really scary.  So we are back to not allowing Hurley out in the back yard alone for now.

Since the landscaping changes are being done next Tuesday we have added the challenge to our landscaper of coming up with a decrative way to block the top of the pond so Hurley cannot take a quick flying lesson.

Hurley has no fear when it comes to innovative ways to get into water or out of the yard but he seems to have regressed when it comes to people wanting to pet him.  He does get a lot of socialization so I am assuming it might be his age (7 months).   We will continue to get him out and about and excited about making new friends.

It's amazing how puppies (like kids) can find anything naughty!  He sure is a handsome guy:)

Leslie,

You are so right.  After raising kids and now a puppy there is a lot more in common than one would think.
