- About Me:
- I am retired, married and a grandmother who is daily doing what I love most. Enjoying family, running, strength training, indoor cycling, group fitness class training, benefiting from Yoga and Yin and helping others get fit. I am a certified personal trainer with a goal of helping others in my age group to improve their life style through exercise and good eating habits. My husband and I like to mt cycle, hike, etc. We fell in love with Labradoodles after dog sitting our kid's doodle on several occasions. We hope to train Hurley to become a certified Therapy Dog.

- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- Our Labradoodle is named Hurley. He is a chocolate wavy fleece Australian MLD.
Hurley is so amazing to us. We love his expressions, the way he leaps around out of happiness, how he watches the TV and tries to engage any animal that is on the screen. I take him for long hikes and on runs both of which he thoroughly enjoys doing. Our special time is when I brush him. He lays on the floor and seems completely relaxed while I talk to him as I run the comb or brush through his coat.
He loves water and snow. If sees a body of water he is in it. If he gets a chance to play in the snow he frolics with freedom and joy.
Our second doodle arrived a week ago
Sidney is an ALD multi gen wavy fleece about 30 lbs. He is from the same breeder as Hurley. His great great grandfather is Hurkey's father. He will weight between 35 and 40 lbs when completely grown. He is all black. So black you cannot see him in the dark unless he shows those beautiful white teeth and pink tongue.
I don't know his personality yet. Going to be an adventure. Well, Sidney talks back. It is so funny. When he talks back I give him a stern look and he back up and just looks at me and then lowers his eyes.

- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- Because they are quiet, smart, loving, caring, don't shed and great for people with allergies. They are truly special and simply beautiful inside and out. Our Hurley is my buddy. He expressions are priceless. His love and devotion is beyond any expectations. I am his mom. He follows me everywhere. Nudges em softly or brings his toys to me when he wants to play.
He is my solace and my companion. He watches over my hubby who has Cognitive PD.
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- He was 3 months old when we got him. He turned one year on Nov 29th, 2012. I will never forget when we picked Hurley up at the airport. I opened his kennel and he was way in the back in the corner. We made eye contact and the connection was made. We are extremely close and in touch with each other. He goes with us everywhere we can take him but he is quite the home body. He likes play days and sleep overs with his doodle pals to be at our house.
I am told that when I am not home he waits. He quietly waits for the garage door to open, for my car to pull in and for that back door to open. He won't play or be easily engaged in activity when I am gone.

- Kong and Petsafe toys.

Thank you! Today is a particularly difficult day as I am missing my girl very much! I am looking forward to some doodle love someday soon and I will definitely be posting lots of pictures!

Hurley is beautiful. You sound a lot like us. We are retired, and active. My husband with his wood art and bikes, and me with my doodles, computers, and gardening. It is great to keep busy when you are retired.
